Assessment
Additional details
Students who are enrolled in Ensemble subjects as part of their Master of Music by Research (Music Performance) are expected to participate in an ensemble which rehearses and performs at a Masters level. Ensembles must be approved by the Master of Music (Music Performance) Course Coordinator.
Students wishing to perform in a University of Melbourne large ensemble (e.g., Symphony Orchestra), must complete the required audition and will need to list the ensemble, role they will be playing (e.g., "tutti viola”), and performance dates on the Ensemble Registration form, due on the first Monday of week 3 of the semester in which they are planning their ensemble enrolment. Complete participation will be verified with that ensemble’s director/coordinator for assessment.
For students not performing in a University of Melbourne large ensemble, a study plan including repertoire, rehearsal schedule, complete personnel, and date/venue of performance(s) must be supplied as part of the Ensemble Registration, due on the first Monday of week 3 of the semester in which they are planning their ensemble enrolment. A video recording of your performance and a copy of the printed programme is required for assessment by the Monday following SWOT/Vac.
The forms for Ensemble Registration and Ensemble Assessment can be found here: http://vca-mcm.unimelb.edu.au/studentcentre/forms
Assessment is on a pass/fail basis.
