This subject covers the following topics: Interpretation of symbols, imagery, colour, archetypal figures; Jungian theory and philosophy - the shadow, anima/animus and the interpretation of dreams; Myth; Mandala; Transpersonal therapy.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students will have gained an understanding of:
- Jungian philosophy and archetypes (including shadow, anima/animus)
- Basic concepts of transpersonal therapy
- Interpretation of symbols commonly found in myths and dreams
- The theory of shape, form and colour of the mandala, and gained skill in its interpretation
