Students will develop professional level skills and artistic awareness neccessary to prepare and perform chamber music repertoire selected from 17th to 21st centuries, in partnership with leading artist from Australia and abroad.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- show artistic development as chamber music players with regard to:
- Technique
- Interpretation
- Expression
- Communication
- perform selected repertoire to concert standard;
- demonstrate a capacity to think critically and indepently in matters of corporate style, sonority, balance, ensemble, phrasing, belnding and musical gesture;
- identify the broad and diverse cultural references of the chamber music literature.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject student should be able to:
- demonstrate a capacity to think critically and independently;
- study selected chamber repertoire to a high level performance standard;
- apply time and people management skills to rehearsal and performance planning;
- demonstrate teamwork skills in rehearsal/performance groups.
