This subject consists of three related areas. Teaching Contemporary Technique explores the potential structures of technique classes and works progressively through the functions and construction of class material and exercises. Contemporary Dance for Children covers the content and teaching strategies for creative and skills training for under 11 years of age. Teaching Observation is based on the recognition and understanding of teaching strategies, content and classroom management techniques.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should have acquired the following skills:
the ability to communicate orally, kinaesthetically and in writing;
the ability to interpret and analyse;
the capacity to evaluate and synthesise data and other information;
the ability to identify aesthetic domains;
the ability to apply theory to practice;
capacities of imagination, transformation and interpretation;
