This subject extends the Theatre maker in writing, directing, dramaturgy and performance techniques via the ongoing development of generative and interpretative projects and on overseas making experience. Students adapt and reframe the skills they have acquired, integrating them in contemporary generative and/or responses to classical material led by external professional artists. Theatre makers adapt stage and screen production processes via the integrated development, rehearsal, performance and evaluation of executed material(s). The second phase of development for a new work will be undertaken in an international location. Students refine the development of their own performance making methodologies via intense exercises, interpretive rehearsal processes and an overseas development experience.
Intended learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Integrate existing theatre making methodologies in response to the generation of new work
- Integrate innovative documentation into performance making processes and overseas experience
- Generate performance work based on creative research and collaboration
