An integrated approach to research in the field of educational and developmental psychology. The interdependence of measurement, design, and analysis is emphasised. Practical aspects of data management and analysis (using SPSS and AMOS) is included in the laboratory component. Specific multivariate techniques are studied - their selection, use, interpretation, and reporting. Datasets relevant to the practice of educational psychology are used to inform exercise hypotheses and analyses.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Evaluate research literature in educational psychology in order to make informed decisions about intervention approaches and techniques
- Conduct independent enquiries in psychology and education

This subject may be taken by 312AA Master of Educational Psychology and G02AA Master of Educational Psychology/Doctor of Philosophy students only.

Three written reports totalling 6,000 words (100 per cent) with a pass grade required in each assignment.
Due dates are at four, eight and twelve week points in the semester.
This subject has a minimum hurdle requirement of 80% attendance at all tutorials, seminars and workshops.
