Students negotiate a research project with assistance from an academic supervisor. The student develops a research report which makes use of existing data, artefacts and literature as relevant to their project. Please note that students cannot undertake research projects that require Human Research Ethics approval.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate a depth of knowledge in an area of contemporary research in education.
- Understand the theoretical context of an issue of concern in education
- Understand the purpose of selected research methodologies
- Use research processes with due regard to ethical procedures
- Demonstrate a capacity to engage in reflective, critical discussion of the area of particular interest

• This subject continues over two consecutive study periods, with students first enrolling in EDUC90931 Education Research Study Part 1 and then subsequently enrolling in EDUC90932 Education Research Study Part 2, for a total enrolment of 37.5 credit points. Students will receive an overall result for the subject following completion of the two-subject sequence.
