The Research Report itself is examined. The Research Report involves a two-semester program of study (completed over two semesters). The Research Report is supervised and each student will be allocated an adviser. Students will be required to conduct and present the results of an independent piece of research in decision, risk and financial sciences.
Semester 1:
- In their first semester of enrolment in the report, students will be required to submit a formal proposal in Week 3 (1,000 words). (10%)
- Students are to present a 10-minute oral progress report during Weeks 7 and 8 of Semester 1. (10%)
Semester 2:
- During their second semester of enrolment in the report, a written progress report (1,000 words) is to be submitted in Week 1. (10%)
- A 10-minute seminar presentation is to be made mid- semester of Semester 2. (10%)
- A draft of the Research Report is to be submitted in Week 8 of Semester 2.
- An electronic copy of the Research Report must be submitted in the second of the two semesters, by 4 pm, Friday in Week 12 in Semester 2. It is not to exceed 6,000 words. A copy of all data used and any relevant work files containing transformed data etc will also be required to be submitted in electronic format at the same time. (60%)
