Students will be required to write a thesis of 15,000 words on a topic in Indonesian language, literature, culture, society or another appropriate topic in Indonesian/Malaysian studies devised in consultation with the coordinator. They will also be required to present a seminar paper on the results of their research.
Intended learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this subject will:
- acquire skills to conduct independent research on complex problems;
- be able to present research findings in a in a disciplined, systematic way scholarly format; and
- be able to explain materials from another culture using academic concepts.
Generic skills
Students who successfully complete this subject will:
- have an ability to evaluate research and professional literature concerning Indonesia.
- have a capacity to articulate their findings and views in oral and written presentations.
- have an appreciation of the design, conduct and reporting of research.
