This subject can only be taken following successful completion of INFO90008 Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Project with an average of 75 and above, and provides students the ability to conduct a substantial and in-depth capstone project. The subject involves in-depth investigation of a significant problem related to Human Computer Interaction or a related discipline. The subject also provides students with skills and knowledge for analysing and solving problems, and enhanced written and oral communication skills. Under the supervision and guidance of an academic researcher, students are required to design and conduct a substantial research investigation. This would typically involve an extensive literature review, meticulous experimentation and data collection, and thorough data analysis. The results will be reported as a thesis and in a public presentation. In some instances, it is expected that the results will also be submitted for publication in a conference or journal.

On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Independently investigate topic areas relating to Human Computer Interaction
- Synthesise work related to the topic of study
- Write and present a proposal and report
- Complete a substantial piece of original research.
