Development of advanced solo performing skills and a study of effective programs of practice.

Intended learning outcomes
Upon completing this subject students should have gained:
- a broad knowledge of the repertoire for the particular instrument or voice;
- the musical and practical skills necessary for public performance;
- the creative, critical and analytical skills which are appropriate to performance.
Generic skills
Upon completing this subject students should be able to:
• Have the ability to connect research into repertoire to actual performance, and the development of creative skills of interpretation across a wide spectrum of music;
• Be cognisant of and sympathetic to a broad range of musics and associated performance skills;
• Have communication skills in order to both understand all aspects of performance practice, and develop an understanding of life experience as a performer in the 21st century.
