Students will conceive, plan and execute a substantial research project.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of Part 1 & Part 2 of this subject students should have
- Demonstrated the ability to conceive, plan and execute an independent research project
- Demonstrated a capacity to think originally and independently
- Shown a command of the standard literature related to their research
- Demonstrated the ability to write in a scholarly manner
Generic skills
On completion of Part 1 & Part 2 of this subject, students should have developed:
- The ability and self-confidence to comprehend complex concepts and to express them lucidly in writing
- Knowledge, skills and practices which provide a basis for independent critical inquiry and research-based writing
- A capacity for self-directed learning and the ability to plan work and use time effectively in research-based activities
