A series of weekly seminars normally divided into two segments of one hour each. In some weeks the seminar is split into separate musicology and performance groups; other weeks the seminar is jointly run. General seminar format:
- Presentation of papers by students.
- Special topics on research methodology, music performance practice, and current issues in music research and related areas led by various members of the academic staff or visiting lecturers.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students should have gained experience in the preparation and presentation of research papers and a wider perspective of research and associated issues in musicology and performance.
