This subject will provide students with the opportunity to study a variety of texts which follow a traditional form of dramatic action, dialogic interaction and narrative logic.
Intended learning outcomes
On completing this subject students will:
- have learned and applied various approaches to working with text from the initial read, through to rehearsal/practice and performance;
- have analysed the relationship between voice, speech and text;
- have an understanding of the actor’s/speaker’s vocal needs within the context of the rehearsal and performance process.
Generic skills
On completing this subject students will have:
• a capacity for self-directed learning and the motivation for continued skills and professional development in voice;
• an advanced level of oral and written communication;
• a capacity to manage competing demands on time;
• an appreciation of the team approach to learning in complex areas;
• a capacity to participate fully in collaborative learning and to confront unfamiliar problems;
