This subject will develop clinical skills in the management of paediatric conditions and focuses on overall patient management rather than 'hands-on' physiotherapy treatment. Students have two weeks' clinical placement that includes two days attending clinics at the Royal Children's Hospital. Students prepare a case study for presentation at the end of the course.

On completion of the subject, students will be expected to be able to demonstrate:

Specific Skills
On completion of the subject, students will be expected to be able to demonstrate:
- Critical decision-making and clinical reasoning skills for the management of paediatric conditions.
- An understanding of patient management in the context of the child's developmental stage and the family.
- The knowledge and ability to perform paediatric physiotherapy competencies standards at a high level accepted by the profession.
- A well-developed problem solving ability in paediatric physiotherapy clinical practice, characterised by a flexible approach.

For Masters by Coursework: PHTY90013 Paediatric Physiotherapy Theory (may be taken concurrently)For Postgraduate Certificate: PHTY90040 Physiotherapy Professional Portfolio
