This subject builds further on the students understanding of higher management roles within the performing arts industry including touring companies. This will include production scheduling, budget control, contract writing, technical crew management, risk management and documentation. Students will look at Production Management roles across a range of production styles and genre.
Intended learning outcomes
At the conclusion of this subject the students should have developed an understanding of the range of skills that are used at Company and Production management level.
Generic skills
- Exhibit extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of their discipline including relevant professional knowledge, skills, discipline and ethics as they relate to a practising visual/performing artist.
- Demonstrate capacities for artistic imagination, creativity, transformation and interpretation.
- Work at various levels, both as an individual and as a team member, in a wide variety of visual/performing artistic environments.
