This subject is an extension of skills taught in Performing Arts Practice 1B
Students will be assigned to either the costume workroom or set and props workshop for a semester to assist in the realisation of elements for VCA productions. Students will work collaboratively with their peers with supervision from both professional and academic staff. Students will be given the opportunity to develop their realisation skills through practical project assignments.
Intended learning outcomes
At the conclusion of this subject the students should have a basic understanding of how the costume and or workshop production departments are utilised to assist with studio based performance projects. The students should have further developed their realisation skills through practical project assignments.
Generic skills
On completing this subject students should have:
- time management and planning skills through managing and organising workloads for recommended reading, essay and assignment completion
- demonstrated capacities for artistic imagination, creativity, transformation and interpretation
- demonstrated practical skills in respect of critical analysis, problem solving, report writing, team work and oral and written communication
- contributed to a range of visual/performing arts environments as artistic collaborators and leaders.
