This subject should build on the basic skills developed in Performing Arts Practice 1. Progressing on from introduction and foundation studies, students will be introduced to the team roles working on a variety of production in a variety of positions.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should have demonstrated knowledge of:
- How to work on a theatrical production within the Performance Technology major.
- How to apply their skills in a professional capacity as a member of a production crew
Generic skills
On completing this subject students should have:
- time management and planning skills through managing and organising workloads for recommended reading, essay and assignment completion;
- demonstrated capacities for artistic imagination, creativity, transformation and interpretation;
- demonstrated practical skills in respect of critical analysis, problem solving, report writing, team work and oral and written communication;
- contributed to a range of visual/performing arts environments as artistic collaborators and leaders.

Active Project Participation (10%)
Class attendance is required for this subject; if you do not attend a minimum of 80% of classes without an approved exemption you will not be eligible for a pass in this subject. Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day.
Project Role (50%) Practical assignment on an allocated role as a Lighting, Audio or Vision Switching Operator supporting a performance project. (2000 words or equivalent)
Essay 1000 words (20%)
Self Assessment and Activity Diary (20%) A self reflective written paper at the conclusion of the assignment and a written journal recording the processes. (800 words or equivalent)
Peer Assessment (10%) Complete all forms to the informed standard. (200 words or equivalent)
