Discipline Skills B (Lighting Design) is a further development of the material introduced in Discipline Skills A (Lighting Design). At the completion of the course students should have developed an understanding of the scope and special needs of events for example Rock and Roll, Corporate Theatre and Outdoor Theatre and Events. They should be able to plan, source and prepare the appropriate equipment for such an event and understand the operational and safety requirements for any specialised equipment that may be required.
Intended learning outcomes
On completing this subject students will be able to:
- communicate and document in appropriate forms a detailed lighting design for a specified performance project;
- demonstrate an understanding of the structure and roles within the production workshop;
- work collaboratively with other creative team members on the development of design concepts;
- demonstrate the ability to develop concepts through a specific design process.

On completing this subject students will have developed the following skills:
