- Problem Based Learning participation and assignment (flow diagram and report, 1000 words indicative) on cariology to be run during February and March (5%);
- 6 x 20 minute class tests on cariology, Caries diagnosis and risk assessment, Caries management decisions, Exam, diagnosis and treatment planning in periodontology, Risk factors, pathogenesis and periodontal immunity throughout the teaching period (20%);
- 4 x Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) tasks on Microbiology by mid-year (5%);
- 2 x problem based learning sessions in which students will be assessed on their interactions with the facilitator and their group and the written assignment (flowchart and report, 1000 words indicative) to be run during September (5%);
- 1 x 90-minute written exam on cariology to be held in May (15%);
- 1 x 2-hour written exam on plaque related diseases to be held at the end of the teaching period (25%);
- 1 x 2-hour written essay-style exam on pathology, therapeutics for dental practice and principles of medicine in dental practice at the end of the teaching period (25%).
