In this subject students gain an understanding and insight into how the Art Department operates. This includes understanding roles and responsibilities as well as the processes that are followed in order for the department to run effectively and fulfil its responsibilities. Areas covered include art direction, budgeting, scheduling, continuity, standby props and clearances.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to
- Articulate how an Art Department operates.
- Identify key roles within a conventional Art Department and outline the responsibilities of each position.
- Perform clearances and ensure that copyright issues are dealt with correctly
- Create a budget and a running budget.

On completion of the subject students should have developed
• The ability to develop and run a budget
• The ability to develop a schedule
