CONTINUOUS:
Audition technique - focusing on achievements against set criteria in areas such as: engagement, developing a methodology, transference of skills into performance, professional attitude and commitment, independent preparation of materials, ability to integrate feedback. Assessed over 6 classes, weekly in the first half of semester (10%)
CONTINUOUS:
Project rehearsals - focusing on achievements against set criteria in areas such as: engagement, developing a methodology, transference of skills into performance, professional attitude and commitment, independent preparation of materials, ability to integrate feedback. Weeks 12-15 (20% for onstage performers - principals and ensemble; 60% for off-stage covers - understudies)
FORMAL:
Performance project - group performance of a full music theatre work (approximately 2 hours). For students who are off stage covers, the formal assessment will take place via an understudy run. End of semester (60% for onstage performers - principals and ensemble; 20% for off-stage covers - understudies)
WRITTEN:
Submission of an individual song repertoire folder, reflecting the learning outcomes of music theatre style workshops and audition technique classes. 500 words. Due mid-semester (10%)
