Entry requirements
1. In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
• an undergraduate degree in an IT-related discipline with a weighted average mark of at least H2B (70%) in the final year of study or equivalent; and
• at least 5 years of documented work experience; and
• a personal statement; and
• one referee report, which must be submitted prior to the application deadline.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.
2. In ranking applications, the Selection Committee will consider:
• prior academic performance; and
• the work experience; and
• the personal statement; and
• the referee reports; and for short-listed applicants
• an interview
3. The Selection Committee may seek further information to clarify any aspect of an application in accordance with the Academic Board rules on the use of selection instruments.
4. Applicants are required to satisfy the university’s English language requirements for graduate courses. For those applicants seeking to meet these requirements by one of the standard tests approved by the academic board, candidates must achieve the equivalent of an English Language capability of a minimum standard of IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 for Reading, Writing and Listening and a minimum of 6.0 for Speaking.

(a) The interview for short-listed applicants is for eliciting information on the following matters:
• standard of academic record;
• nature and length of employment experience;
• achievements subsequent to graduation;
• reasons for seeking admission;
• interpersonal and communication skills;
• maturity and motivation.
Inherent requirements (core participation requirements)
The Master of Information Systems (Executive) welcomes applications from students with disabilities. The Master of Information Systems (Executive) requires all students to enrol in subjects where they will require:
a) the ability to comprehend complex science and technology related information;
b) the ability to clearly and independently communicate a knowledge and application of science, and technology principles and practices during assessment tasks;
c) the ability to actively and safely contribute in online activities.
Students must possess behavioural and social attributes that enable them to participate in a complex learning environment. Students are required to take responsibility for their own participation and learning. They also contribute to the learning of other students in collaborative learning environments, demonstrating interpersonal skills and an understanding of the needs of other students. Assessment may include the outcomes of tasks completed in collaboration with other students. There may be additional inherent academic requirements for some subjects, and these requirements are listed within the description of the requirements for each of these subjects.
