This subject develops the advanced topics and methods of stochastic processes and discusses possible applications of the models covered in the course. It serves to prepare students for research in Probability Theory. The specific content will vary depending on the subject coordinator.
Intended learning outcomes
After completing this subject students should:
- demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental modern mathematical techniques used to analyse such models;
- extend their ability to analyse mathematical models for real-life situations involving uncertainty;
- be prepared to pursue further studies in this and related areas.
