The Specialist Certificate in Implementation Science will improve the knowledge and skills of health and human services professionals in this emerging area of research and practice – Implementation Science. It will provide an understanding of the core principles of Implementation Science and their application to the complex environment of health and human services. The course is aimed at the broad range of professionals working in health and social care who contribute to the implementation of policies, programs or projects.

Entry requirements

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
- An undergraduate degree in a cognate discipline; and
- At least two years relevant professional experience in human services or a related field.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.
In ranking applications, the Selection Committee will consider:
- prior academic performance; and
- prior professional work experience.
The Selection Committee may seek further information to clarify any aspect of an application in accordance with the Academic Board rules on the use of selection instruments.
Applicants are required to satisfy the university’s English language requirements for graduate courses. For those applicants seeking to meet these requirements by one of the standard tests approved by the Academic Board, performance band 6.5 is required.

Intended learning outcomes

At the completion of the course, students should:

have a high level knowledge of Implementation Science in human service practice;
have advanced theoretical and technical knowledge in using methods of Implementation Science in practice;
be able to apply knowledge relating to Implementation science independently and responsibly in their professional practice; and
be able to construct Implementation designs for application to practice contexts.
