Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students will:
- An understanding of the principles of advocacy in development practice;
- An ability to analyse the strengths and limitations of advocacy strategies in different political and cultural contexts;
- An ability to critically engage with debates about the role of advocacy practice and its relationship to social movements;
- An ability to develop understanding of cross-cultural practice and sensitivity to cultural diversity across contexts;
- An ability to develop reflexive understanding of personal experience and skills in community development and advocacy.
