Students may enrol in this subject only with the prior permission of the Course Director, which will be given only after presentation of an acceptable project proposal. The proposal must be submitted at least three weeks before the start of semester, and approval finalised before the start of the semester. The final project must be submitted at the end of the relevant semester. Students are encouraged to select a project topic that overlaps with their work activities.
Intended learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject students should be able to:
- Identify a research topic that overlaps the students work activities;
- Critically evaluate a chosen area of the appropriate literature;
- Present an argument on a sound basis;
- Analyse the limitations of previous research and implications for the interpretation of results;
- Complete an applied research project in a chosen area.

Prerequisites
FNCE90019 Principles of Finance and FNCE90020 Derivative Securities. This subject is only available to those students who would satisfy the entry criteria for the Master of Applied Finance.
