Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Combine multiple sources of learning offered through this subject to better understand the medical practitioner's role with the specific patient populations encountered in the co-requisite subject "Principles of Clinical Practice 3"
- Demonstrate integration of understanding of the roles of the doctor as a professional, scientist, advocate, researcher & clinician in the delivery of care to specific patient populations
- Demonstrate appropriate professional practice through interactions with patients, peers and members of the interprofessional team
- Articulate how appropriate learning from this Discovery subject can be integrated into the student's professional practice and transferred to the clinical care of specific populations

Students completing MD Discovery subjects will display skills in:
- Choosing educational pathways that best prepare them for professional practice

Time commitment details
Students will generally undertake their MD Discovery 3: Integration subject as a 4 week intensive block within the third year of the medical course. In some instances, the subject may need to be undertaken over the semester. Contact hours should not exceed 20 with the emphasis being on asynchronous online learning activities and placements.
