This subject focuses on supply chain outsourcing decisions and the associated finances. The key topics include the role of sourcing in supply chain, designing supply chain contracts, contract coordination, revenue sharing and risk sharing. It will also cover designing innovative supply chain contracts and financial instruments to improve performance, coordinate costs and product availability.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Understand the role of sourcing in a supply chain management
- Evaluate the outsourcing decisions and its impact on supply chain function
- Understand different supply chain contracts
- Apply models to measure the supplier performance in supply chain
- Understand the impact of risk sharing on supplier performance

After completing this subject, students will be able to:
- Communicate effectively about key ideas and theories
- Identify and critically analyse strategic problems and decisions
- Enhance critical thinking in relation to the effectiveness of solutions
