This elective subject offers students an immersive external experience during the winter term.
Students will engage in a daily rehearsal or performance process as offered by an approved professional theatre company. Students will engage in a rigorous process leading to or maintaining a high-quality performance.
This subject aims to further understand the production process for students to become effective collaborators and independent practitioners. Through the development of a prompt script, research and performance, students will create an industry perspective that will prepare them for their third year of study.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- generate musical theatre industry written resources appropriate to the placement or individual project;
- critically reflect and evaluate independent practice and performance;
- compare and contrast external expectations and practices of music theatre training and performance;
- utilise external perspective to enhance and perform acting, singing, and dancing within a music theatre context.
