This subject is a 3-week intensive international study experience, through which students will gain a deeper understanding of contemporary dance and movement cultures. Students undertake masterclasses, learning from experts in the field and are exposed to innovations and gain valuable experience contributing to their identity as global art citizens.
They will be challenged to think beyond their current dance practice by participating in workshops and viewing performances from an overseas company. Exposure to unfamiliar cultures, places and people stimulates students’ ability to move and think creatively and problem-solve as well as to establish rapport through intercultural competencies. Students adapt and reframe the skills they have acquired and integrate them into new creative and cultural contexts.
This subject builds upon and augments understanding and familiarity with movement cultures and dance languages.
Overseas Travel
In this subject, students will engage in an intensive study abroad experience and costs in addition to tuition fees may be incurred. Students may be eligible for financial assistance, or the Overseas Help Loan (OS-HELP Loans).
