In this subject, students focus on the specialist areas of their choice, selecting two of the specialisation modules they successfully completed (achieving a pass grade or higher) in Production Studio 2. This subject develops a further understanding of the production process in order for students to collaborate effectively with theatre makers and production departments in the creation of live performance, while also developing skills to sustain themselves as independent practitioners.
Through studio-based classes students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the chosen specialisations and progress their skill level for employing these in the context of live performance.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- demonstrate creative processes and technical skills as applied in the realisation of live performance, relating to contemporary practice;
- analyse and apply the roles, responsibilities and processes necessary in the production of live performance;
- implement safe work and best practices in technical theatre;
- incorporate creative processes and technical skills employed by a theatre practitioner in the realisation of live performance within a studio environment.
