This subject, together with EDUC90335 Minor Project in Education, comprises the Capstone experience for Stream B (non-placement pathway) of the Master of Learning Intervention. Drawing on theory, knowledge and skills developed throughout the Master of Learning Intervention, students will complete an individually negotiated project in which they undertake a theoretical study in an area related to their individual specialisation of disability, learning difficulties or deaf education. The Capstone project will culminate with students synthesising the findings of their work in the written form of a research proposal.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Carry out the planning for a substantial research-based project.
- Demonstrate knowledge of a particular area of concern in education.
- Apply research designs to investigate educational issues in disability, learning difficulties and deaf education.
- Analyse literature to develop a research proposal.
- Use research findings to advance professional knowledge in learning and behavioural interventions.

Eligibility and requirements
Prerequisites
Admission into the MC-LI Master of Learning Intervention
AND
Completion of a minimum of 50 credit points of study in the Master of Learning Intervention, and must be taken in the final semester.
