Intended learning outcomes

Students who complete the Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) in this area of specialisation should:

Be able to discuss a wide range of current issues in Japanese
Appreciate language styles and major points of selected readings in Japanese
Demonstrate an understanding of Japan and contemporary Japanese society
Write a thesis of 15,000 words, comparable with that appropriate to an Honours degree.
