This subject provides you with a foundation that is essential to be an effective business executive. After completing this subject, you will have a clear understanding of key areas that need to be managed effectively for a business to be successful and the inter-connectedness of key areas. You will acquire useful skills and techniques that will help you effectively manage those key areas. This subject will also provide you with essential skills for successfully completing the remaining subjects in the MBA program, which delve deeper into topics that will help you enhance your business acumen and become a better business leader.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:

- Articulate and critically analyse a company's competitive environment, business model and competitive advantage
- Identify key internal and external factors that need to be managed to successfully implement the firm's competitive strategy
