Sustainability and analytics are dramatically affecting how organisations operate and interact with their stakeholders. This subject provides students with a foundation in sustainability, addressing what it is, its different components and why an organisation’s long-term viability requires incorporating sustainability into its strategy. This subject also addresses the many ways that organisations can benefit from analytics. It also provides a foundation for helping non-technical individuals develop the skills and confidence to interact with and manage analytics staff.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Articulate and critically analyse the effect of sustainability on an organisation's competitive environment, business model, operations and competitive advantage
- Identify key internal and external factors that organisations need to manage to successfully address sustainability in the current environment
- Critically assess the potential benefits of analytics on an organisation's operations and competitive advantage
