This elective subject is available to Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) students by permission of the subject coordinator following an Expression of Interest process.
This subject is an intensive international study experience, offering students an intercultural exchange involving masterclasses, workshops, and performance opportunities in dance.
The subject is intended to broaden students' understanding of different generative practices as they occur in other cultures, thereby expanding the dancer's knowledge through which students will gain a deeper understanding of dance and movement cultures.
Overseas Travel
In this subject, students will engage in an intensive study abroad experience and costs in addition to tuition fees may be incurred. Students may be eligible for financial assistance, or the Overseas Help Loan (OS-HELP Loans).
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- adapt and experiment within different dance contexts;
- develop an artistic identity within a multi-cultural context;
- apply intercultural skills to situations of collaboration, inter-disciplinarity and cultural exchange;
- demonstrate a professional ethos in participating and contributing to international exchange.

On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- communicate constructively in different social situations;
- respond openly and imaginatively to new ideas;
- articulate, integrate and adapt knowledge from different domains.
