This subject further develops students’ capabilities in animation production. This includes an embedded introductory programme in the fundamentals of digital 3D.
Students undertake all stages of pre-production, production and post-production to create an animated short film to a prescribed length. Students will create a folio of digital 3D animated sequences that explore 3D sculpting and motion.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- create an animated film with synchronised picture and audio;
- apply creative and technical animation skills and knowledge;
- implement fundamental animation production management skills;
- demonstrate core capabilities with digital animation tools;
- extend knowledge in animation by exploring new and emerging resources;
- critique, evaluate and apply feedback to reflect on animation productions.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- communicate in visual form;
- plan and organise their work and solve problems;
- apply practical knowledge to practical problems;
- begin to develop a set of flexible and transferable skills for different types of employment.
