This subject focuses on supply chain intelligence technologies and information systems that are applied to enhance an organisation’s supply chain practices and performance. The key topics include the introduction to supply chain intelligence, its technological enablers, and supply chain information systems. We will also discuss the evaluation of information system selection decisions using both quantitative and qualitative criteria.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Understand the importance and challenges of information management in a supply chain
- Evaluate current practices in information management of a supply chain
- Identify opportunities for improvement in information sharing
- Propose and implement effective measures for information collection, sharing, and disclosure
- Use data/information to support key supply chain decisions
