Graduate Chamber Music 3 builds on the experiences gained in Graduate Chamber Music 2, offering students an additional opportunity to be part of student-led chamber music groups.
Through intensive practice, dynamic group rehearsal and the mentorship of an industry professional, students will be undertaking work that reflects industry-standard approaches to developing and refining the musical, technical and communication skills required of professional performing musicians in a chamber music setting.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- perform confidently and independently as an individual and as a member of a cohesive small ensemble;
- perform and refine selected repertoire to a professional standard;
- make informed choices in matters of style, sonority, balance, ensemble, phrasing, blending and musical gesture;
- lead and collaborate to a professional standard in rehearsal and performance contexts.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- communicate effectively in oral and written language, and in musical performance;
- demonstrate appropriate leadership in group settings;
- promote and maintain the wellbeing of self and others;
- manage competing demands on time, including self-directed project work.
