In this subject, students build on the skills acquired in Orchestra Audition Preparation 1-3 to deepen and further refine their approach to auditioning for professional orchestral positions. Students will apply the knowledge gained in previous subjects to optimise performance and regularly practise and perform a comprehensive range of audition repertoire under the guidance of leading industry professionals.
This subject will culminate in a live audition experience with multiple rounds in a simulation of a professional audition.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- independently learn and refine repertoire for an audition;
- employ technical fluency and stylistic literacy in the interpretation of audition excerpts;
- present a polished recorded audition performance to a professional standard;
- achieve consistent high-level performance standard under the pressure of a multi-round live audition.

On completion of this subject, students should be able to:

- promote and maintain the wellbeing of self and others;
- manage competing demands on time, including self-directed project work;
