This subject will focus on meeting industry practices and expectations of successful musical theatre performers. Students will use skills gained in Music Theatre Studio 5 to meet professional industry standards.
Classes will include spoken voice, dance techniques, audition technique and repertoire. Through skills-based performances and the completion of a repertoire folio, students will further enhance their skills in acting, singing, and dancing.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- refine a range of techniques and repertoire for increased diversity and versatility;
- execute the rhythmic and spatial aspects of choreography accurately incorporating style, storytelling, and character to various genres and styles of dance;
- present a vocal repertoire portfolio for auditions;
- receive and apply direction and feedback in an audition and skills assessment setting.
