Description	Timing	Percentage
Seminar presentation: Students should submit a 1500 word text one week in advance of the oral presentation in class (1500-Words + 10 minute presentation + 1 hour's preparation of presented materials) 1500 words	During the teaching period	30%
Peer response: students should comment on at least two of the seminar presentations within one week of the class presentation 500 words	During the teaching period	10%
Conference presentation & paper: Students should produce a 3000 word paper either advancing on work presented in the first assignment or developing new ideas in relation to the taught content of the subject (3000-Words + 20 minute presentation + 2 hours' preparation of presented materials) 3000 words	During the examination period	60%
Hurdle requirement: 1. Attendance hurdle requirement: This subject has a minimum requirement of 80% attendance at tutorials, seminars, or workshops. There is an expectation that students attend lectures.	Throughout the teaching period	N/A
Hurdle requirement: 2. Late Penalty and Assessment hurdle requirement: Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at five per cent (5%) of the possible marks available for the assessment task per day or part thereof. All pieces of assessment must be submitted to pass the subject. Each submitted assessment must be complete, constitute a genuine attempt to address the requirements of the task and will not be accepted after 20 University business days from the original assessment due date without written approval.
