The Master of Public Health (MPH) Doctor of Medicine (MD) is a 200 point program
The Master of Public Health (MPH) Doctor of Medicine (MD) has a total value of 200 points. If you are accepted into the program, you will be granted 37.5 credits for advanced standing. Furthermore, you may receive a maximum of 25 credits advanced standing (with credit) for MSPGH subjects taken as Discovery.
• 25 credit points unspecified credit into the MPH (MD)
• 12.5 credit point (exemption) specifically against either of the following core subjects:
• POPH90217 Foundations of Public Health; or
• POPH90218 Public Health Leadership and Management
• Maximum of 25 credit points for MSPGH subjects taken as Discovery
Students in the Doctor of Medicine specialisation (students granted 37.5 credit points of advanced standing and 1 MSPGH Discovery Subject (Direct Credit) will need to complete:
• 50 credit points of core subjects (POPH90013 Biostatistics, POPH90014 Epidemiology 1, POPH90231 Qualitative Research in Public Health and POPH90274 Prioritising & Planning in Public Health
• 12.5 credit points of Selective subjects (POPH90217 Foundations of Public Health OR POPH90218 Public Health Leadership and Management)
• 37.5 credit points of MPH elective subjects as listed on the MPH Course Structure Page
• MEDS90042 MD Discovery 4: Creation (Year 4 of the MC-DMED program)
Students in the Doctor of Medicine specialisation (students granted 37.5 credit points of advanced standing and 2 MSPGH Discovery Subjects (Direct Credit) will need to complete:
• 50 credit points of core subjects (POPH90013 Biostatistics, POPH90014 Epidemiology 1, POPH90231 Qualitative Research in Public Health and POPH90274 Prioritising & Planning in Public Health
