Overview
This specialisation enables you to understand the theoretical, sociotechnical, pedagogical and ethical dimensions associated with the role of technology and innovation in education and across the lifespan. The specialisation is inspired by two intertwined strands of educational research: a strand interested in digital transformation that examines technology and its role in systemic educational change (the “big picture”); and a strand interested in innovative practice, that examines how technology the built environment can be embedded in pedagogical design.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:
- Critically evaluate emerging technologies and infrastructures and their role in global policy and practice
- Analyse and articulate the potential of design-based paradigms to enhance leadership and practice
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to use digital and emerging technologies in inclusive, decolonial and sustainable ways
- Foster and lead change and innovation in a range of learning environments
- Demonstrate an understanding of relevant theories and methods used in digital education and the study of innovative practices.
