Overview
This specialisation enables you to develop the understanding, skills and confidence to lead science and mathematics learning, and to learn innovative approaches to teaching and communicating these subjects in ways that lift student engagement and performance.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:
- Develop research-informed skills to lead science and mathematics learning
- Apply innovative research-informed approaches to teaching and communicating science and mathematics subjects in ways that lift engagement and performance
- Explore evidence from interdisciplinary initiatives from across the world and from First Nations' cultures relating to engaging with science and mathematics activities
- Develop a range of pedagogical content knowledge and teaching strategies for teaching mathematics and science in ways that engage all students
- Explore foundational assumptions about the purpose and practice of mathematics and science education in relation to society and the natural world.
