This subject will introduce the key concepts underpinning the ‘Digital Futures and Innovative Practices’ specialisation. These concepts will be explored through questions that invite discussion and curiosity. Examples include: “What does digital education look like in Australia and globally?”; “Can digital education be sustainable?”; “Can digital education be decolonial?” and “What is the difference between a human and a machine?” Students will consider how these concepts relate to their planned area of specialisation.
This subject will provide a playful introduction to ways of working with digital and physical technology, which will be at the heart of the pedagogical approach of the Specialisation. For example, students will develop familiarity with collaborative environments and generative AI tools and will be given a light-touch introduction to the hands-on activities that will take place in some of the subjects.
For Master of Education students, this subject provides preparation for the Digital Futures and Innovative Practices specialisation.
