Screen Practice 3B is a capstone subject focusing on the production of a developed short film project.
Students will synthesise knowledge developed throughout the degree through the practical realisation of a 5 to 10-minute film project which was developed in Screen Practice 3A. Films are completed within a staggered production schedule.
By following industry protocols through pre-production, production, and post-production, the capstone experience will extend students' problem-solving, leadership and interdisciplinary skills whilst undertaking crewing roles on other student-film productions.

- realise a short film from pre-production to completion;
- employ industry protocols and production practices for film making;
- apply advanced problem-solving and leadership strategies in various crewing positions;
- produce a short film project to an industry-recognised professional standard.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- integrate personal reflection into the creative process;
- manage competing demands on time, including self-directed project work;
- employ a wide range of idea creation techniques;
- demonstrate appropriate leadership in group settings;
- communicate effectively in oral, written and digital forms.
