Students will have to give a short presentation (equivalent to 5 minutes) on the progress of their project (date to be announced by the School of Mathematics and Statistics early in semester) (pass/fail) 1 pages Hurdle requirement: Hurdle set as pass/fail. Students must pass to satisfy hurdle	At the end of week eight of Research Project Part 2	N/A
A thesis is the main requirement. Theses are expected to be 40-60 pages in length, excluding references, appendices, figures and tables. The thesis is to be submitted two weeks prior to the end of the teaching period in the final semester of Research project enrolment. 40-60 pages	At the end of week ten of Research Project Part 3	90%
Students will have to give presentations on their research projects (date to be announced by the School of Mathematics and Statistics mid-semester) 30 minutes	In the last week of Research Project Part 3	10%

The assessment requirements above are applicable to the entire 50 point Research Project.
