Front line managers play a crucial role in strategy implementation and communication. This subject explores the typical rationales for strategic choices and the common drivers of organisational performance, how strategy is translated into action within workplace, and the role of frontline managers in influencing strategic change. A variety of common and innovative strategy tools are introduced. Examples of emergent and workplace level strategic change are explored.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Understand the importance of ethical and sustainable strategy for the success of organisations.
- Apply their knowledge and understanding to analysing ethical, sustainability, and strategic challenges faced by organisations.
- Use this knowledge and understanding to develop practical solutions to management problems faced by organisations.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to make a strategically sound decision that is ethical and sustainable.
